Go to http://quotationspage.com/random.php3 and keep reading until you find ten quotes that speak to your personal truth.
The excellence of a gift lies in its appropriateness rather than in its value. -Charles Dudley Warner
Ignorance and inconsideration are the two great causes of the ruin of mankind. -John Tillotson
A problem is a chance for you to do your best. -Duke Ellington
Innately, children seem to have little true realistic anxiety. They will run along the brink of water, climb on the window sill, play with sharp objects and with fire, in short, do everything that is bound to damage them and to worry those in charge of them, that is wholly the result of education; for they cannot be allowed to make the instructive experiences themselves. -Sigmund Freud
This above all: to thine own self be true; And it must follow, as the night the day; Thou canst not then be false to any man. -William Shakespeare
One word Frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love. -Sophocles
The knowledge of the world is only to be acquired in the world, and not in the closet. -Phillip Earl Stanhope
If you don't run your own life, somebody else will. -John Atkinson
You have to recognize when the right place and the right time fuse and take advantage of that opportunity. There are plenty of opportunities out there. You can't sit back and wait. -Ellen Metcalf
PHILOSOPHY, n. A route of many roads leading from nowhere to nothing. -Ambrose Bierce (1842 - 1914), The Devil's Dictionary

Seeing as how I never really post and morrigirl tagged me, I may as well do this meme. :)
7 Random Facts
1) I am engaged to one Jonathan Perez but I can't really tell you when we actually got engaged.
2) I moved from Chicago to Seattle completely on a whim because I was really depressed in Chicago
3) While my official job title is Corporate Counsel, my actual duties are really more of a recruiter/HR person
4) I still like to watch Saturday morning cartoons when given the chance, even though they totally aren't the same anymore
5) After not driving for 10 years, I now really want a car
6) I'm playing hooky from work today because sometimes you just can't do 6 days a week
7) I'm a die hard Green Bay Packers fan and I really like pro football (I have no interest in college football though)
Now I'm supposed to tag someone but I don't know who, so I just say, if you want to do this meme, then go ahead! :)

I have some AWESOME news...
I GOT A LAWYER JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I posted my resume on Monster on Monday, revised it with a few keywords yesterday, got a call this morning from a company, scheduled an interview at 2, went, and they offered me a job! I'll be doing actual lawyer things, along with some other non-lawyer things, for this rapidly expanding company that does research for the food production industry. http://www.iehinc.com if you're interested. I'll be working with another attorney who's been there almost a year and who just finished law school last year. i'm very excited. The commute will probably suck because it's north of seattle & it's 6 days a week but it's a REAL JOB! with REAL MONEY! and REAL EXPERIENCE! YAY!!!!!!

RIP Kurt Vonnegut He was one of my fave authors and my choice for book club next month. Now my choice is very timely.
In other news, I have been without a computer & therefore internet access for like going on 3 weeks I think. It sucks. I have no idea what's going on in any of your lives. The library only gives you 1 hour a day and they don't have the best hours cause I work all the time.
I bought the new HELLYEAH album because I'm in love with Chad Gray of Mudvayne, but the album is pretty good. It was a good purchase I think.
I think that I might get a new computer because it would cost $476 to replace the screen of my laptop (that got smashed) and Dell is having a Mother's Day sale where I can get a new laptop or desktop for $599 with Vista Premium. I didn't want to get Vista so early, though. Jon thinks I should get a desktop because I really don't need my computer to be portable anymore. Also, it has way more memory. ANy thoughts?

Comment and I'll give you a letter. Then you have to list 10 things you love that begin with that letter. After, post this in your journal and give out some letters of your own.
morrigirl gave me G (which isn't all that easy, so here's what comes to mind in no particular order)
1) Gayle - of course I love myself :p I think I am awesome! 2) Guys - that's a given as well, right? 3) Gifts - giving and receiving. I'd really like to do more Christmas shopping right now but I'm out of money till next payday. 4) Grey's Anatomy - It's soapy & gets it medicine wrong a lot (apparently) but I love it 5) Grey Goose - vodka is my liquor of choice 6) giggling - anyone who knows me understands this 7) Gilmore Girls - most people I know don't understand how I can watch this show, but I love Lorelai & Rory 8) girls - not in the same way I love guys obviously, but I have to love my own gender 9) games - board games, computer games, video games, and especially logic games - they're all so much fun 10) Google Image Search? - seriously I was out of ideas. but I do love Google Image Search

| Question for Gmail users |
[21 Oct 2006|02:49pm] |
Hi everyone. I know, I know, I never post. So I'm assuming most of my fellow gmail users use Firefox as a browser but maybe you can help me out anyway. I just upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 which has a built in phishing filter which I turned on. I then went to go check my gmail again and I get a notice "Lockdown in Sector 4" and now I can't check my email for approx 24 hours. Do you think the 2 are related somehow? Because I don't really ever send that much email or anything so I'm all confused and I just want to check my email. what do you think?

omg I'm actually posting!
I was just wondering if any of you have ever used the "Name your own price" feature on Priceline.com. I'm looking for a cheap hotel room in downtown Chicago which really does not exist. So I'm tempted to use it but it freaks me out a little, so I was hoping someone could share their experience. Thanks :D
